Everything Is Illuminated

After being stuck to this book on and off for more than a year, which is a personal record-breaking, I’m finally done of reading it. Well, this post is not a review of this book, but a sigh of relief. Why sigh? Not really a slow reader, but… I think I already lost some of my hair because of its unique literacy, so unique that it took me so freaking long to extract the meaning of every single sentence for the first 50 pages.

The hardcore literacy written by the author plus my bad habit of procrastination are the 2 reasons that took this book so long to finish. At least for now I can look forward to watch the movie adopted from this novel with Elijah Wood as the main character of the author himself, Jonathan Safran Foer.

This after-effect has prompted me not to move on to another hardcore novel, Ludmila’s Broken English by DBC Pierre, the same author who wrote the book that I love, Vernon God Little.

Kam Raslan’s Confessions of an Old Boy: The Dato’ Hamid Adventures is next on my reading list (even though I know I’m a bit late for the hype of reading his book!).
