Vernon God Little, a Book Review

I bought this book as a Christmas present for myself and it took me 3 freaking weeks to finish it.

The book portrays the life of a 15 year old Vernon Gregory Little who was caught as a murder suspect of a murder case which involved the killing of his best friend called Jesus. Geesh… even the title of the book gave me a hard time to describe the author’s invention of putting the word “God”. Once you finish reading it, I’ll bet you get a hint on that.

The starting chapter of the book is kinda slow as you need to adapt to the typical modern Shakespeare’s language written by its author, DBC Pierre. Yes… modern Shakespeare’s, like:

Hard to tell if she quivered, or if moths and porchlight through the willows ruffled her skin like funeral satin in a gale.

Hurr hurr… no wonder it took me so long to adapt to the pace of his writing. But once you reach towards the quarter part of the book, that’s where the story gets interesting.

No offense, one of the reasons why I love this book is because of the way the author wrote it… using modern Shakespeare’s language to write such good craps, especially when comes to cursing and thoughts by the main character (Vernon Gregory Little) of the book.

I enjoyed reading this book, so I’ll give it a full 5 out of 5.

Whoahh… 5 out of 5 eh? ahahahaha, I must make a point to read that book, but not so soon lah, been busy. I like to finish a book as soon as possible… usually in less than 5 sittings, and within a week. I do not want to drag on and on… coz, I am a forgetful person, once i finish the middle part, maybe i forgot the fron part oledy !!!! Ahahahhaa, well, thats just me… so I need to have proper time allocated just for one book u see.
But nonetheless.. I will do the book.

Sure dude, I’ll lend it to you but you must finish reading it before I leave for the new semester.
