House of D has got to be one of the best I’ve seen so far since I turned over a new leaf. Gosh, I know it’s kind of awkward for a person like me to review a movie, but I just had to do it.
This movie potrays a story of an American artist living in Paris, who reminisces his younger life back in New York. It wasn’t his typical teenage life like we all had: family, friends, finish school and get a degree… none of them. His dad passed away for an unknown reason, leaving his mom to take care of him while he pursued his tertiary education under a scholarship. Scholarship? Wondering of what I mentioned just now, it didn’t happen to him at all. The story tells in the movie… and it has a great ending.

Behind the scenes of this movie, it was David Duchovny’s directional debut and Tom Hanks being one of his producers. The main acts for House of D are David Duchovny, Robin Williams and the young talent Anton Yelchin. Oh yea, I must say that the actings in this movie are pretty good too. Robin Williams did a great job on playing a role as a retarded 40-something guy, the best friend of Tom (Anton Yelchin).
Guys, I seriously encourage you all to watch this movie when you’re free. Currently the movie is shown on Astro’s Star Movies (Channel 42). So it’s your job to find out when’s the next screening for the movie. For those living overseas, there’s such thing called Torrent. So make full use of it, if you know what I mean.
Don’t bother upon checking other people’s reviews of this movie cos more than half of them were quite disappointing. Critics can be biased, huh? And I’m really serious about that.
For this movie, I’ll give my rating a 4.5 out of 5.
A great bedtime story for me, eh? And gosh, look at the time. Good night fellas!
