I just had an appointment with our car insurance company’s lawyer regarding the claim made by the victim against me, claiming for compensation. Yes…I had an accident and I’m on the wrong side, knocking the motorcyclist while I was trespassing the red traffic light.

Guys, it’s not what you think of me, chasing after the green light or something. It happened at the Padungan roundabout and I was en-route home and decided to use a new route, which requires me to drive round the circle and stop at the traffic light junction. Honestly, I didn’t even notice there’s a traffic light junction there and I thought it was just a normal roundabout. It was turning into night and that caused my vision to get blurred and confused, in addition with the heavy caffeine of coffee I had from Bing.

My stupid carelessness of not being aware of the traffic lights presence there gave me the clear and go situation, so I drove. But wondering why the cars at the back and beside me didn’t move at all, I began to realize that it was a traffic light junction when I cross over the first lane…and it was too late. I knocked against him and there, he flew away from his bike like a Superman. Seconds after that, a black MPV rammed onto the back of my car from the same direction as the motorcycle.

I was panicked and terrified but thank God that he was still alive and I sent him to the hospital immediately. He suffered minor injuries and he forgave me for causing him such pain, but his dad was keeping his sorry till the case is closed.

That was last year and the police case is settled. I’m very fortunate that they decided not to bring this case to court or otherwise, I won’t be able to drive for at least a year.

Anyway, I should have wrote this during the time of the accident but I didn’t have a blog at that time. It’s the interview that triggered me to write this entry.

That’ll be my first and last accident for my whole entire life.
